When you jump off a high diving board, or, as i said, a cliff, your legs and arms seem to uncontrollably move around, what is a word for that? I want to say they fray, but I looked up the definition and it is definitely not it. Spasm seems like it could work, but it doesn't jump

I want to say they fray, but I looked up the definition and it is definitely not it. Spasm seems like it could work, but it doesn't jump out at me. jumping off a cliff into water is what i meant
